Choppy plot with lots of steamy sex.
Heartwork is a title released in 2004. It has only three episodes, which turned out to be a bad thing for plot development. The plot was quite rushed, with mediocre development for the characters involved. The main premise involves Yuu Asakura, the male lead, becoming the owner of a cursed gun which can drive the user insane and prone to violent actions. Apparently, there is a moral lesson for each of the episode that goes along the lines of choice, destiny and right. There are some scenes of blood where the female or male is shot while having sex.
Character development was very brief. You never really get to see anyone’s character get mileage, with the exception of Yuu. I wasn’t very sure whether I liked him or hated him. There are many questions left unanswered at the end. Each time, though, he got to have plenty of physical action. For the many female characters in this series, the most frequently seen one would be Chief Morikawa. She never had a sex scene though; very surprising in a hentai title.
I definitely pitied the character of Misako, who got framed. The character development of Hozumi Sakatsu was very weak, despite the fact she was put in the spotlight in the second episode. I can also say I pitied Yuu’s stepsister. I won’t say what happens, but I definitely wouldn’t want to be in her shoes at the end.
I really liked the music in Heartwork, because the opening and ending themes are decent. I found myself thinking of the PC game Chain as I watched this hentai. The background music was also pretty catchy and the seiyuu’s for this title did a good job.
The sex in Heartwork is typically male/female with several positions and some blowjobs as well, though there are some yuri pairings for the purposes of foreplay. The animation is okay, very monotone in terms of nearly every character looking alike. While the sex scenes weren’t quite memorable, they were explicit and sometimes violent. Some warning though, there were points in the animation where you couldn’t really what was happening because most of the screen was white.
Overall I would say this is a good hentai title to check out. Look out for the very surprising ending. |
