Title: Wicked City
Genre: Horror / Mystery
Credits: Urban Vision
Cover Description: There is Earth, our familiar world, and
then there is the Black World, a parallel dimension that very few people
are aware of. For centuries, a pact between the two worlds has been
observed to maintain peace, and terms must be renegotiated soon to continue
the relative harmony.
This time around, there is a militant faction that will stop at nothing
to prevent the signing of a new treaty for interdimensional peace. Taki
of the human world and Makie of the Black World, two agents of the elite
organization known as the Black Guards (defenders of the balance between
the two worlds) are charged with insuring the success of the treaty.
It's non-stop action as these two race to consummate the peace treaty
in time as wicked special effects and tremendous animation depict chaotic
fight scenes bursting with energy. Everyone is waiting, either in anticipation
or fear, for the final outcome!

When they said "wicked"... they mean wicked!
From small things come big surprises. When I heard of the
title Wicked City, I was thinking more along the lines of
dark alleys filled with prostituted women, secret rendezvous
with the mob, and drug lords mooning over an expensive keg
of alcohol. Images of conspiracies and political anomalies
flood my mind.
Well, that last part is applicable to Wicked City, but not
in any way one would expect. The political turmoil is brewed
not between political parties but actually between humanity
and a rather forceful supernatural group. This anime's selling
point is its in-your-face approach to eroticism and its philosophical
take on the realm of possibilities. Truly, no lure could be
as heady and intoxicating than that of the mysterious secrets
of the "dark side" and Wicked City presents a sexy
visual abstraction that defies reason.
The only negative thing that can be said about Wicked City
is that it has a pacing that's a too fast, leaving little
room for subtle development of characters. Other than that,
it's almost impossible to find complaints in the well-executed
action sequences and the carefully drawn artwork. The little
twists in the story line also provide a pleasant ending that
will make a hopeless romantic sigh in contentment.
Side NOTE: The reason why this is in Hentai Neko
instead of being in Otaku Fridge despite having mild hentai
scenes is because of that shocking display of unbelievably
HUGE...uh..."lips" in the last parts.
