Creativity was asleep...
An "aria" is defined by most opera lovers as a solo
vocal piece with instrumental accompaniment, so naturally
I expected a lot of falsettos and head tones involved with
this anime. True to form, I was mistaken. I must learn my
lesson not to expect too much variety from obviously low-budgeted
h-anime.
So what is there in Wake Up Aria? Apart from the bad art
and animation? You have the usual aliens with excessive limbs
and overflowing semen, fluffy-headed young girls, strong women
who miraculously become useless in the face of perverted adversaries...just
your regular H dish, except for the little twist about who
the real bad guys are. I'm not saying much, really—just
that the plot is sooo bad (how many times have I used the
word "bad" again?) and overly used, you can't help
but want to dismantle the VHS tape. That music is used as
an instrument of seduction was not lost to me, but what music
can be found here is nothing more than tingling glass and
a few classical piano records being played on the background.
Wake Up Aria certainly didn't have many events worth wasting
precious web space on. I am not even going to comment about
the horrendous art and repetitive, not to mention jumpy, animation
frames!
As for the title, do not expect any deep meanings in it.
The word "literal" was invented for just such phrases.
