Animal Magnetism
"Are you thirsty? I'll fill you up with my juice",
entices one of the blurbs on the back of the case. At least
Do You Like Horny Bunnies is under no illusions about what
kind of game it is and neither is the potential customer.
You play Yukari, a young man so effeminate that he gets mistaken
for a girl quite regularly. He decides to take a job at a
local Italian restaurant that is, would you believe it, staffed
predominantly by pretty young girls. In bunny outfits. There
are four waitresses vying for your attention or you can get
busy with the manageress if you like the older woman thang.
As the title suggests these girls are horny, though not necessarily
experienced, and all have a naughty fetish/embarrassing secret
that is revealed as you progress through the game.
What impressed me most about the game is the artwork. The
excellent work of developer ZyX can be seen in the other G-Collections
titles Tsuki : Possession and Chain. The CG art features attractive
characters that are finely detailed and has a slightly 'soft'
focus which lends the visuals a certain smoothness and warmth.
Japanese voice acting is always a welcome addition, though
the script gives the actors very little to work with. Presentation
is top notch from G-Collections as it is in all their games,
the CG, scenes, and music rooms are very slick.
The other huge draw for Horny Bunnies is the unrestrained
naughtiness. There's no obvious attempt at any form of self-censorship
by the artists; expect a whole lot of detailed penetration
and entwined bodiesunlike Tottemo Pheromone, for example,
which frequently utilized the "invisible p*nis"
technique that is in my opinion considerably less erotic than
showing two bodies. Plenty of fetishes are catered fororal,
masturbation, facials, toys, anal, threesomes and urination
are all featured, but there is a pleasing lack of bondage/torture/rape
and other nastier aspects that run rampant in bishoujo games.
A handful of the sex scenes are animated, and while they're
relatively basic (just a few frames looped) they look great.
Problems are still abound, though, as is usually the case
with multi-choice games with no real plot to speak of. The
dialogue is uniformly dull and goes nowhere fast, the characters
adhere largely to the usual clichés though the fetish
angle gives them some depth, and interaction is kept to a
bare minimum. The choices the game offers are mostly random,
pick the wrong ones and the game is over at the half-way point.
But there are sufficient save game spaces to record progress
at every fork, so backtracking is quite easy. Speaking of
easy, it took me a couple of plays to figure out how the game
system worked, but once I did it's fairly easy to breeze through
the girls' scenarios, somewhat lessening the satisfaction
of obtaining those lovely CG's.
Usually I'm quite harsh on bishoujo games that fail to offer
the player real substance. But for Horny Bunnies I'm prepared
to overlook the shortcomings and recommend this game for its
gorgeous art and heart-racing erotic content.
